| SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10th 2005 ORGAN CAMPAIGNERS' JOY Newport-born organ donor campaigner Andy Tookey is celebrating a major breakthrough in his battle to improve the system in his adoptive home. Mr Tookey is battling to improve the donor system in New Zealand since discovering his young daughter, Katie, would one day need a transplant. He told the Argus he scored a major triumph, when the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health named him in a joint Press statement as being the driving force behinds their announcement for a new organ donor register. "Twice the Health Select Committee have voted in favour of my submission for a donor register and twice it has been rejected by the government.
